DAVID HINDLE - PROFILE

David trained in architecture, working in a London practice before studying Film Design.

For 25 years he has worked on some of the most creative projects in the industry, from the highly acclaimed Kings Speech and The Theory of Everything to the spectacular Bohemian Rhapsody.
Variety and quality have been a consistent factor in his work.

He has been nominated three times for the Art Directors Guild Award, winning in 2011 and has also been nominated for an Emmy.

The last two major projects have been as Production Designer with long time collaborator Christian Huband. They met on Henry VIII and worked together on Jane Campion’s beautiful film Bright Star.

After designing The Aeronauts, David spent six months in Shanghai designing Casino Royale for Secret Cinema, their first international show.

Teaming back up with Christian on his return, they designed Roald Dahl’s Matilda, based on the brilliant West End musical directed by Matthew Warchus.
